DAY 1 NEWARK TO IPSWICH (VIA PETEBOROUGH)
After weeks of preparation we are happy to report that all our organization went swimmingly (other than nearly losing Paul in Peterborough train station) and our anticipation has become trepidation.
It is 20.20 hours at Fox’s Marina, Ipswich after a long day having experienced various modes of transport. Our boats were lifted in truly professional fashion by Farndon Marina. Argussy was transported by Beverley Transport and Italian Job was transported by Kingsley Farrington. We couldn’t believe how close it was getting round the corner out of the marina and when the boat arrived at Ipswich the only addition we had was a branch of a conker tree complete with conker.
And if you thought it was unpleasant having a Canadian Goose landing next to you – try having a helicopter landing next to you. We did – it can’t have been 25 metres away.
The plan is to leave early in the morning as the forecast is excellent. Here’s hoping.
